In many implant rehabilitations bone augmentation is necessary to provide sufficient volume of the alveolar process for implantat placement in the correct prosthetic position. Though the implantologist has a wide range of options and materials to choose from the shell technique developed by Prof Khoury becomes more and more the standard of bone augmentation. Further developments of the technique do even show better results and offer the opportunity to work with less morbidity for the patient. The concept of augmentative relining during implantation after shell technique augmentation and the allogeneic bone plates are just two of these developments. The course is aimed at dentists, periodontologists, oral surgeons and oral and maxillofacial surgeons who want to expand their spectrum in the field of implantology, especially in the area of augmentative surgery and soft tissue management. With the help of numerous clinical images and video demonstrations, the principles, methods and materials for the autologous and allogeneic shell technique will be presented in a practical and reproducible manner. Practical exercises on the model and on the pig's jaw should facilitate direct implementation and handling.
